HMONG TO START A WITNESS ENCOUNTER

The Hmong people are clan orientated people with a web of relationship which extends to the eighteen clans. It is usually not effective to just walk up to a Hmong person or go door-to-door to share about Jesus. Instead, it is more effective by going through clan relatives.

What my husband and I started doing was invite relatives and acquaintance who we know and are not Christian to supper.

We invited a couple to join us for dinner. We served dinner early, about 7:00 pm, and afterward we spend time talking to the couple about what it means to be a Christian. We start with “law to the proud and grace to the humble”.

We have met with several couples in a few weeks, and shared God’s Good News to them. This is our way in bring God’s words to others.

For your New Year resolution, make an effort to intentionally talk to your relatives and friends about Christ. It is our responsibilities to bring our family members and friends to Christ.
