He came to save
us
Titus 3:4-7
Greetings: Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Text: Titus 3:4
Prayer:
1. Introduction:
a. Today
we celebrate Christmas. Christmas
is a celebration of Jesus’ birthday as we do our with our birthdays.
b. In Christmas time, we give gifts to each other. But the true Christmas God gives us the gift of His Son, Jesus Christ.
c. With Jesus’ birthday, we do not celebrate his age as we do with ours; rather we celebrate and remember who He is and still is and the reason why He came down to earth.
2. Why
Jesus came down to earth?
a. He
came to show us His kindness -
b. He came to show us His love.
c. He came to save us because of His mercy.
3. How
did He save us?
a. He
saved us by the rebirth and renewal of the Holy Spirit (Baptism & faith).
b. He saved us by justifying us with His grace (Forgiveness of sins).
c. He saved us by making us heirs with the hope of etermal life (His children).
4. Christ
has saved you and me:
a. You
and I have been born again and renewed when we were baptized in the water and
in God’s name.
b. God forgave our sins and He made us His children.
c. We now live with the hope of eternal life.
5. Closing:
a. As
children of God, we devote our lives and ourselves to the things of God.
b. In the New Year, I encourage you to let go the things that are not good this past year. Strive for good things – things that are pleasing to God. Let God’s Word rules your hearts and minds so that the Holy Spirit can lead you to a godly lives which is worthy to be called His children.
