WHO ARE WE?
The Hmong International Mission
is a ministry of the Hmong Mission Society (LCMS). The mission was founded by a group of LCMS
members from Wisconsin,
Minnesota and
Illinois.
The history of this mission
began in 2000 with Rev. Yia Vang desire to expand the LCMS Hmong mission in
North America to the Hmong people in Thailand
and Southeast Asia.. He shared his desire with a member of his
congregation (Dr. Fungchatou Lo) and they spreaded words to other congregations
and a trip were actually took place on November 2001. The people who took the trip spent about two
weeks visiting Hmong villages in Northern Thailand
sharing the Gospel and seeking for men to be trained for the mission. In April of 2004, a group 34 people at the
Klong Hoi Klai village were baptized and a leader was installed to serve the
people. A congregation was born! From there on the mission began to expand and
more people were brought to faith and more leaders were recruited to be trained
as pastors.
