DEACON LANG YANG, JD

 

Mr. Lang Yang was commissioned by St. Michael to serve as Deacon to the Hmong members at Our Savior Lutheran and Michigan District.

He was Born in 1968 in Xiengkhousang, Laos, and immigrated to Thailand, then eventually to the United States.  Lang became a Christian in 1976.  In 1977, Lang’s parents divorced and his father came to the United States.  Later his mother remarried.  He was left to care for his brother and two younger sisters.  In 1979 when Lang was eleven years old, he was sponsored by his older sister and they were able to come to the United States.   After graduating from high school, Lang married his wife Phoua Hang from Richville, Michigan.  Lang and Phoua have five children.

 

Lang has two Associated degrees, a Bachelor of Science, and a Juris Doctor degree in Law.  In 1996, Lang and Phoua moved from North Carolina to Richville, Michigan.  Lang and his family became members of St. Michael Lutheran Church.

 

Lang professional careers includes serving as President of Txakee Yang Inc., working as a Investigator, working as a Police Office, serving as a Store Manager, and functioning as a English/Hmong Interpreter Language Specialist.

 

Lang is currently enrolled at the St. Louise Concordia Seminary to begin his pastoral training in the Ethnic Immigrant Institute of Theology (EIIT).   Lang is also involved in the Hmong Mission Society as a District Representative, serving as the secretary of Hmong Ministry Conference, and serving as a treasurer/secretary for the LCMS Hmong Hymnal Project.

 

Lang looks forward to serving the Lord and working to bring the Hmong people to Christ.
