Since May of
2004, over 5,000 new Hmong individuals have arrived all over the United State.
Many of them now live in California, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and North Caroline. Many of them come to reunite with family
members. Others come to seek a better
life for their family and children.
Regardless of the reasons why they are here, many new refugee Hmong
from Thailand are here to stay.
Many of them
came with nothing but the hopes and dreams of a good life and peace.
LCMS Hmong
Ministry encourages our Hmong congregations to do outreach to these new
families. Grace Lutheran Hmong
Ministry in Brooklyn
Park
has visited new families who are now living in Minneapolis and St. Paul.
Deacon Dr. Fungchatou Lo at Grace Lutheran and the Hmong Ministry has
also collected blanks and furniture for some of these new families. Please pray for these new families.
If your
congregation is able to financially or able to donate clothes, furniture, and
household items, contact your local Hmong Associations or LCMS Hmong
churches.
