(Sermon note on Filipis 3:12-21)

 

 

1.         Tej yam Vajtswv Txojlus txwv: 

            a.         Do not focus on things in the past:  Forgetting was is behind

            b.         Our enemies:  Their god is their stomach

            c.         Their glory is their shame

            d.         Their mind is on earthly things

 

2.         Tej yam Vajtswv Txojlus ntuas kom ua:
            a.         We need to know that we are not at the goal yet

            b.         We have not been made perfect (physically – No, spiritually – Yes).  We are sinner and

                        saint at the sametime.

            c.         We need to press on to take hold of that which Christ took hold of me

            d.         We need to straining toward what is ahead

            e.         We need to press on toward the goal to win the prize which God has called me

                        heavenward in Christ Jesus

            f.          We all should take such view.  If you think differently, God will make it clear to

                        you

            g.         We need to live up to what we have already attained

            h.         We need to always remember that we are citizens of heaven and eargerly await the

                        Savior from there to take us home in heaven

            i.          When this happens, He will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like

                        His glorious body

            b.         Application of #1 above

            c.         Application of #2 above

            d.         Close with words of exhortation and encouragement to press on forward toward

                        the goal and to receive the prize which Christ took hold for the Christians
